Join Us at Atlantic Grill on October 8th for a Special Celebration! The year 1976 marked both the U.S. Bicentennial and the 250th anniversary of the Parish of Rye. With the sudden surge of interest in local and national history, several community members led by Jessie Herlihy suggested creating a formal historical society. Jessie was joined by other local preservationists from existing groups like the "Every Other Tuesday Club" as well as early charter members like Alex Herlihy, Becky Marden, and Ralph Morang III.
On Thursday, October 8th we will gather at Atlantic Grill at 5 Pioneer Road in Rye. At 5pm we will conduct our Annual RHS Membership Meeting followed at 5:30 by a celebration of our 50 years of preserving and sharing Rye's fascinating history.
Non-members are welcome to join us for the celebration which will include several short presentations marking this important milestone. Food and drinks will be served and there will be a cash bar. The event is free to all however donations will be gladly accepted. If you have any questions on this please send an email to info@ryenhhistoricalsociety.org.
Members have been sent a link to sign up. A link will be available here for non-members starting September 4th.
